Find your Epic game hours

  1. Open the Epic Games Launcher and choose Library.
  2. Find the game and open its three-dot menu.
  3. Look for You’ve Played. For a list of games, switch the library to list view and check Time Played.

These are the hours recorded by Epic. For Fortnite, use the same library view; see the Fortnite guide for PC and account scope.

Import your Epic hours into PlayCounter

Worth doing once: signing in brings in the playtime Epic recorded, so your totals start with your real hours instead of zero. New Epic sessions are tracked either way, with or without an import.

  1. Open Epic Games in My Games

    In the sidebar under My Games, select Epic Games, then Import from Epic Games. After your first import, the button says Import more from Epic Games.

  2. Choose how to find your games

    Sign in and find games brings in your Epic library with the playtime Epic recorded, including games that are not installed. Find installed games only scans this PC and needs no sign-in; those games arrive without earlier hours.

  3. Review and import

    Recognized games wait in Ready to import. Games you never played and have not installed start unchecked, because Epic accounts often collect many free games: check the ones you want. Games under Needs attention ask you to confirm the right game first. Then select Import.

You sign in directly with Epic in a temporary private window; PlayCounter does not see your password. The sign-in is ended when the import is done and is not stored. Only your game list and playtime reach the app, and the PlayCounter API only receives Epic game IDs and titles to look them up. Import privacy details.

Keep a local session history with PlayCounter

  1. Open PlayCounter before starting your Epic game.
  2. Launch the game from Epic as usual.
  3. Check Now Playing to confirm the matched title.
  4. After closing the game, open My History for the recorded session and My Games for its total.

How imported Epic hours add up

Imported hours do not create old sessions in My History. Epic’s total counts once, next to any Steam or Xbox total for the same game. PlayCounter compares that sum with the time it tracked itself and shows the higher number, so overlapping hours are not counted twice. See an example.

Run the import again to refresh Epic’s totals. If a game has no Epic hours, for example because you only scanned installed games, set its earlier total yourself.
